Rev. David Watts, Minister of Music and Worship
The Worship Center Choir is directed by David B. Watts who has served First Baptist Church as Minister of Music and Worship since 1996. Rev. Watts holds a BA Degree from Belmont University in Nashville, and a Masters in Church Music from Southern Baptist Theological seminary in Louisville, Ky. In addition, Rev. Watts is a graduate of the U.S. Naval School of Music and has participated in numerous additional training opportunities.
The First Baptist Church Worship Center Choir has a proud heritage of service that extends to the very early years of our church history. Presently our choir focus centers around worship. We see ourselves in the precious position of worshippers and leaders in worship. Therefore, our primary focus lies in our worship services on Sunday morning. We prepare for this very special ministry each Wednesday evening from 7:10 to 8:30 p.m.
In addition, the choir ministers through special presentation and services throughout the year. Christmas time is a busy season for the choir; singing at our annual "Hanging of the Green", "A Night in Bethlehem", and the Christmas Eve service. One of our most major undertakings is the "God and Country" service, happening near the Forth of July holiday. This is a full musical presentation with a full orchestra.
The choir is a close knit family within our church family. We laugh together, cry together and enjoy our worship opportunities together as well. Included in these times are our Christmas Fellowship at the home of our Director and his wife, Dianne. In addition, we enjoy each other's company at our annual choir banquet in the fall and our choir picnic in the summer.
If God has so talented you we invite you to come be a part of our wonderful and rewarding ministry. Simply come to choir on Wednesday evening at 7:10 p.m. or call the church office, 931.455.5461 as God leads you.
